Summer Vacation

It was an eventful summer for the Kelley-Munoz family! Just a couple days after school ended for the kiddos, we packed up and were off to Ireland for a little over two blissful weeks.

Dingle Penninsula, driving around Slea Head.

Ms. B admiring the view in Killarney National Park.

Probably everybody's favorite activity of the trip - we took a Hawk Walk! We met Arizona the Harris hawk and took him for a stroll (the first thing he did was land on Ms. B's head - she loves birds, so that was a highlight for her). And afterwards, we met these excellent owls! Hubby is holding a full-grown screech owl named Gandalf, I'm holding an 8-week old screech owl destined to be Mrs. Gandalf, Ms. B is holding an Irish Barn Owl called Mr. D that did not want to look at the camera, and Mr. C is holding George, who is completely adorable (and I can't remember what type of owl he is, argh).

An amazing trip - beautiful scenery (including a boat trip to the World Heritage Site Skellig Islands), wonderfully friendly people, excellent food (Dingle is a foodie hot spot - including yummy ice cream and ridiculously fresh fish) and music galore. We'll definitely go back!

And then, the kids and I spent 3 glorious weeks down the Cape with various folks visiting us.

I kayaked over to the Stage Harbor marsh (in Chatham) every morning, early - bliss.

All in all, a great summer! And then back to work...
